About

The South Central Coast Small Business Development Center (SBDC) was established to meet the specialized needs of the small business communities of the San Luis Obispo and Santa Barbara Counties.

All members of the business community are encouraged to take advantage of the services the SBDC provides. The SBDC is here to help you succeed, and through your success, to help stimulate the local and regional economy.

The mission of the SBDC is to provide business owners and managers with information, training, and expert individual counseling.

Although, the SBDC does not provide direct financial assistance, it can help small businesses identify financial resources and develop a financial presentation package. Ask about available small business finance programs.

The SBDC will work with you to:

Develop a business plan
Develop a marketing plan
Prepare financial projections
Analyze financial information

At your first appointment you tell the consultant, “Here is where I am now, and here is where I want to be…” The SBDC will help you get there!

The SBDC can help you if you currently own or operate a business but feel that you may not be achieving your full potential. The SBDC team will work with you to:
Develop methods to reduce costs
Establish a banking relationship
Improve marketing
Obtain information on city, state and federal small business programs.
